In 1990 she made her
debut on the stage of the Rousse Opera Theatre, and from 1991 to 2009
she was a soloist of the Varna Opera. In December 2009, after winning a
competition, she assumed the post of director of the Opera and
Philharmonic Society – Varna.
The artistic resume of Daniela Ivanova-Dimova includes over 25 solo
soprano parts from operas by Purcell, Mozart, Donizetti, Verdi, Bizet,
Puccini, J. Strauss, etc., as well as an extensive repertoire from
cantatas, oratorios, chamber pieces and solo songs by Bach, Pergolesi,
Vivaldi, Mozart, Schubert, Rossini, Verdi, R. Strauss, Schoenberg, Carl
Orff, B. Britten, etc.
She has participated on numerous occasions in almost all Bulgarian opera
and music festivals: “Varna Summer”, “Sofia Music Weeks”, “European
Music Festival”, performing both opera and cantata-oratorio and chamber
repertoire from the Renaissance to contemporary pieces.
She has graced a number of European and world stages:

Daniela Ivanova-Dimova
has participated in opera performances, chamber concerts and recitals in
Germany, Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, Russia, Norway, Egypt,
Greece, the Czech Republic, China, Korea, Hong Kong, etc.
The singer has been partnered on the stage by names such as Ghena
Dimitrova, Vesselina Katsarova, Luis Lima. She has sung under the baton
of Bulgarian conductors such as Rouslan Raichev, Mihail Angelov, Vassil
Kazandzhiev, Yordan Dafov, Ivan Filev, Milen Nachev, Borislav Ivanov,
Hristo Ignatov, Stanislav Ushev, as well as Nello Santi, Roland Seifert,
Daniel Inbal, Markus Huber, etc.
In January 2007, Daniela Dimova recorded a CD for Gega New with
Sephardic songs transcribed by Jules Levy and Arnold Schoenberg’s
Brettl-Lieder (Cabaret Songs). In May 2008, with the support of the
Ministry of Culture, she recorded a second CD with Ashkenazi songs
arranged by academician Nikolay Kaufman and songs by Kurt Weill.
D. Dimova is not only a performer, but also an active participant in
public and cultural life. She has organized and launched a number of
interesting music projects for the performance of less-known and rarely
performed in Bulgaria music pieces. In 2007, she founded and chaired the
“Project Music” society, established for the purpose of realizing
projects in the sphere of music culture and to provide additional
employment opportunities for Varna musicians in Bulgaria and abroad.
With the opera “Dido and Aeneas” by Henry Purcell, the Varna Opera has
toured in Larnaca and Nicosia, Cyprus, and with Mozart’s “Ascanio in
Alba” – in Varese, Italy.
Daniela Dimova is a co-founder of “Varna – Cultural Capital” Society
(2004) for the realization of the ambitious project of making Varna the
cultural capital of Europe for 2019.
Daniela Ivanova-Dimova has won a number of prestigious awards:
