Art Director of the corps de ballet

Ekaterina Cheshmedjieva was born in Varna. She graduated the State Choreography School in Sofia and the Academic Choreography School “À. Y. Vaganova” in St. Petersburg in the class of N. Ì. Dudinskaya.

She has been a soloist and a prima ballerina of the Varna Opera since 1974.

Her repertoire includes the central parts in the ballets “Giselle”, “Das schlecht behutete Madchen”, “Copelia”, “Spartacus”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “Cinderella”, “Scheherazade”, “The Miraculous Mandarin”, “Chopiniana”, “The Love Potion”, “Bolero”, “La Boheme”, “Haidushka pesen”, etc.

Since 1993 Ekaterina Cheshmedjieva teaches at the ballet classes to the “Dobri Hristov” Secondary Arts School in Varna. In 1997 she graduated “Ballet pedagogy” at the “Pancho Vladigerov” State Music Academy – Sofia. Since 1999 she has been art director of the corps de ballet to the Opera and Philharmonic Society – Varna.

She has toured in Switzerland, Spain, Austria, India, Romania, Egypt, Greece and Turkey.
